Shawn McComb is Director of Commercial Development and Academic Partnering at Foxconn Technologies Group, and leads the organization’s “Smart Cities – Smart Futures” competition – one of the originating Smart Cities programs in Wisconsin. Various competition partners include Wisconsin’s higher education systems, their academic research foundations, the League of Wisconsin Municipalities, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, and the Wisconsin Technology Council.
The competition is pioneering academic, public and private sector engagement in the Smart Cities arena, and received a “Global Good Practice” award from the University Industry Innovation Network (UIIN), a leading global organization driving innovation and entrepreneurship through university-industry interaction. Further, the University Economic Development Association (UEDA) has selected the program as a national awards finalist in their “Innovation + Talent” category.
A driver of innovation during his career, Mr. McComb played a team partner role with the City of Racine, during its bid for the Smart Cities Council’s, Readiness Challenge competition. Mr. McComb holds Bachelor and Master degrees in Economics/Ag Economics, from UW-Madison, and a MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
